Did you know that almost half of the lifesaving donations made with We Are Blood are given at our mobile blood drives? It’s true. And the donations we receive go directly to helping patients right here in our Central Texas hospitals.
Mobile blood drives are a safe and convenient way for your company, school, church, or neighborhood to give back and make a lifesaving difference for your community. Hosting a mobile drive with We Are Blood is no cost to you and can be an awesome experience for your colleagues, friends, and family members.
Curious about the process? From the moment you contact us, a We Are Blood team member will be there to help you every step of the way to ensure a successful blood drive!
Team Building. Life Saving.
Hosting a blood drive can offer a meaningful opportunity for your group to connect while having a powerful impact on our neighbors in need.
Interested? Follow these steps to get started and host your very own blood drive!
Step 1: Partner up!
Call, email, or complete the drive host form online to let us know you want to get involved. You’ll get matched up with an account manager on our team. He or she will walk you through the entire process and equip you with the tools to have a successful blood drive. We have some best practices here, too!
Step 2: Inside or out?
While we have decked out mobile buses to park in an available parking lot, a blood drive doesn’t have to be on a bus, like many people think. In fact, we can accommodate even more donors if we set up a travelling donor center inside an available room of a certain size! Either way, we bring the party to you!
Step 3: Be the inspiration!
Because our staff resources are limited, we must ensure that we’ll see enough donors to help meet local patients’ needs. For a guaranteed successful drive, we need you to inspire at least 22 people who would be willing and able to donate at your blood drive.
Step 4: Get on our calendar ASAP.
Because we host 2-5 blood drives every single day of the year, we’re planning our calendars many weeks and months in advance. Get on our calendar early so you can make sure your spot is secured.
Step 5: Spread the word!
Tell your friends, family, colleagues and community about the upcoming drive. Seriously, shout it from the rooftops! The more you talk about it, the more lives you can save.
Our blood drives are most successful when we’re able to schedule donation appointments ahead of time. It’s easier for your community to know when and what time they’re donating, and it ensures that we have an element of planning in place to have a successful blood drive.
Help us hit our goal of 200 donations needed each day to serve our community hospitals!
