Spooky season is here, but there’s nothing frightening about donating blood! Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned donor, We Are Blood is here to ensure your donation experience is all treats and no tricks.
You might see some Halloween decorations when you walk through our doors, but there’s no need to fear! Our friendly staff and volunteers will help you feel comfortable right away. They will assist with your intake forms and set you at ease from the start.
Next, you’ll head to the donation room where you will meet one of our amazing phlebotomists, the person who will be guiding you through the screening process. Next, you’ll meet the phlebotomist who will be handling your donation. They will make sure you are comfortable and answer any questions you may have before beginning. Even if needles make you uneasy, you will see plenty of smiling faces in the donation room. Our staff strive to make sure the atmosphere is safe and welcoming for all our donors, so just don’t mind the cobwebs.
Once you are finished donating, the real treats begin! You’ll be guided to our canteen, where you can enjoy a selection of snacks and non-caffeinated drinks. It’s important to hydrate with plenty of nonalcoholic fluids and a hearty meal later that evening. Take this day to treat yourself – you deserve it for the incredible work you did by donating!
