Since 1894, the United States has been celebrating Labor Day to recognize the developments and achievements made by of our nation’s workers and laborers. It is a day to honor their dedication to society’s progress and prosperity. What better way to celebrate their contributions to the well-being of our country than to contribute to the well-being of fellow Central Texans this holiday weekend.
Throughout Williamson County, We Are Blood is partnering with city officials and first responder agencies to host a series of blood drives between August 20 and September 18, 2024. This collaboration grew out of the need to protect our local blood supply over the Labor Day holiday, when we typically see a dip in donations.
Support Your Local Leaders And First Responders
Did you know? Williamson County EMS carries lifesaving whole blood on some of their emergency vehicles to ensure individuals who have endured a trauma can receive a blood transfusion before arriving at a hospital, exponentially increasing a patient’s chance of survival.
Every day, Central Texas first responders help our neighbors in need and see firsthand the impact of We Are Blood Donors. That’s why the cities of Cedar Park, Leander, Taylor and Round Rock and Williamson County EMS are teaming up with We Are Blood to inspire locals of Williamson County to join us in this life-saving event.
Get ready to roll up your sleeve!
Participating donors will receive a limited edition, 2024 Wilco Saves t-shirt and a voucher for a free small sandwich from Schlotzsky’s.
