We are SO EXCITED to be partnering with the popcorn aficionados over at Austin Gourmet Popcorn for a special Spring Break giveaway for our blood donors this week!
As the provider and protector of the local blood supply, it’s our goal at We Are Blood to create partnerships with other local businesses in an effort to support our neighbors. We see these local partnerships as part of our mission.
From time to time, we’re put in the fortunate position where we’re able to offer our donors a special treat as a way of saying thanks. Well this week, that treat is extra sweet–and a little salty.
The popcorn purveyors at family-owned-and-operated Austin Gourmet Popcorn are generously providing each donor who comes in between March 10-19 with a sample bag of their “Austin Mix” popcorn & a voucher for more as a way of saying THANKS. Those who donate at a mobile drive will receive the voucher.
So, why popcorn?
Scott and Alison Hern, the husband and wife duo who operate Austin Gourmet Popcorn with their son Randy, say it’s a lifelong dream realized. After many trips to Dallas throughout the years, Scott began noticing popcorn shops POPPING up all over the place. As a popcorn (and candy! and soda!) lover himself, Scott wanted in on the deal. So in 2015, the family made it happen!
And we’re not kidding, these folks make some DELICIOUS popcorn. They pop and flavor more than 60 delicious flavors in house and feature traditional flavors like caramel and cheddar to some super unique creations like Dirty 6th and the Zilker Mix. Their popcorn is fresh, tasty, and vibrant–just like our home town.
While you’re there, you’ll also notice an extensive collection of more than 400 varieties of bulk and packaged candies (this author’s favorite: gummy bears sorted by flavor!), and an entire refrigerator filled with every type of root beer and specialty soda you can imagine.
So come in and donate–and then head over to Austin Gourmet Popcorn to see it all for yourself! You won’t be sorry.
