We Are Blood is proud to launch our “Let’s Do This” campaign in partnership with St. David’s HealthCare to inspire new donors, motivate current donors, and elevate public awareness that consistent community support through blood and platelet donations during the COVID-19 pandemic is the only way to keep our Central Texas friends and neighbors safe and healthy.
Blood donations during the pandemic have decreased drastically, leading to long-term, critical shortages in our community’s blood supply. Hundreds of mobile blood drives have been canceled, including those at area high schools and universities, which represent nearly 30% of mobile drive donations during a traditional fall semester.
To help during our Let’s Do This campaign, St. David’s HealthCare is hosting multiple blood drives at their CareNow® Urgent Care clinics from Oct. 5-16 across Central Texas. Click one of the mobile drive links below to schedule an appointment. You can choose the drive that is closest to you.
October 5th – Barton Springs
October 5th – Georgetown
October 7th – Tech Ridge
October 8th – Cedar Park
October 9th – Round Rock Central
October 12th – Round Rock West
October 13th – Cedar Park
October 16th – Southwest
Donors can expect fun giveaways throughout the month of October and other local partners and businesses joining in on the campaign. Donors will receive a voucher for a free Whataburger when they donate from October 1st through the 8th, and the Austin Humane Society will be hosting a special pet adoption discount for blood donors later in the month. Stay tuned!
Donations can also be made at any one of three area donor centers on North Lamar, Round Rock, and South Austin. In addition to those hosted by St. David’s HealthCare, weekly there are mobile blood drives across Central Texas.
Remember, appointments are mandatory and face coverings must be worn throughout the donation process. We hope to see you soon!
