SUPPORT OUR LOCAL HEROES
We Are Blood and local first responder agencies team up to inspire blood donors and help ensure our local blood supply can protect area patients over the July 4th holiday.
We Are Blood’s annual Battle of the Badges campaign will take place June 27-July 7, 2025. This event is a friendly competition between local first responder agencies – Austin Police Department, Austin Fire Department, Austin/Travis County EMS, and Travis County Sheriff’s Office – with one badge taking home the coveted Battle of the Badges trophy!
Every day, We Are Blood works diligently to meet the growing needs of local hospitals. Over holidays, demands for blood and platelet transfusions can often increase due to travel accidents and patient needs. And the summer months are an especially difficult time, when blood donations typically drop due to vacations, schools being out, and other summer plans shaking up regular routines.
FIRST TO RESPOND
Every day, Central Texas first responders help neighbors in need and see firsthand the lifesaving impact of We Are Blood donors. Let’s work together to serve our fellow Central Texans over this summer holiday.
Roll up your sleeves and donate blood or platelets at one of our four donor centers or Battle of the Badges mobiles drives (full schedule below) between June 27-July 7 to cast a vote for one of our local first responder agencies. When you do, you’ll receive your own, limited edition, 2025 Battle of the Badges t-shirt! The team with the most votes and donations will receive this year’s trophy and a year’s worth of bragging rights!
