During National Nurses Week, May 6-12, We Are Blood celebrates the outstanding contributions of nurses everywhere but wants to give special recognition to the nurses within our organization.
The We Are Blood Clinical Services team specializes in therapeutic blood donations, catering to individuals requiring medical phlebotomy. Our highly trained medical team partners with local physicians and hospitals to provide a variety of clinical services, some at our North Lamar donor center. Depending on the procedure type, they may also perform specialized procedures at the patient’s bedside in partnering facilities under the direct supervision of his or her physician. Utilizing advanced technology, our expertly trained nursing staff ensure every patient receives exceptional care, feels at home, and is like part of our family.
Clinical Services
A significant aspect of Clinical Services’s work revolves around apheresis procedures, particularly at Dell Children’s Medical Center. There, they support children with conditions like sickle cell disease. Through the apheresis process, clinical nurses remove sickled blood cells and replace them with healthy donor cells, offering hope and relief to young patients.

- Autologous and directed collections
- Therapeutic Phlebotomy
- Cellular therapy
- Mononuclear cell collections
- Provenge
- Therapeutic Plasma Exchange
- Red Blood Cell exchange and depletion
- White blood cell depletion
